Last long weekend my wife and I spend at Redding, CA. On February 14 we had road trip to Burney Falls. I planned lots of stops on our way there to see other great waterfalls, but all trails were under the snow. We were vary glad to find that Burney Falls was open and accessible.

Nice park with campgrounds and picnic areas. I was trying to find a Tiptoe waterfall but looks like that trail was close for the winter. I also took some landscape photos on my way back.

Bounded by Portola Valley, Los Altos Hills, The Pearson-Arastradero Preserve and Los Trancos Open Space, the 1,400-acre Foothills Park is a nature lover’s paradise. Miles of trails provide access through rugged chaparral, woodlands, fields, streams, a lake, and provide spectacular views of the bay area. Wildlife abounds, and it is common to see deer and coyotes; if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of a bobcat. The park is located 2.7 miles west of Hwy. 280 at 3300 Page Mill Road.
Foothills Park is open to Palo Alto residents and their guests only. Proof of residency is required.
I found out about this park with help of my good friend and they told me that park is open to everyone on winter time.

Next day after Red Rock Canyon we went to Zion National Park in Utah. The drive took us 2.5 hours to the park entrance. Unfortunately we did not had enough time to see everything.

This park was our first stop in five days road trip to Las Vegas. Red Rock Canyon about 20 minutes drive west from the city and sure worth the trip.
I posted my photos on Smugmug site and they all for sale.
